A (free) Microsoft account is mandatory to activate your code. You must use the exact same Microsoft account on both your Xbox console and Windows PC to benefit from cross-play.

How to activate an Xbox Play Anywhere CD key?

1. Access the redemption page: Open the Microsoft Store app or the Xbox app on your Windows PC (or go directly to the official redeem.microsoft.com website using your web browser). Make sure to sign in with the Microsoft account you use for gaming.

2. Open the activation menu: 

   • On the Microsoft Store: Click on your profile icon in the top right corner, then select "Redeem code or gift cards".

     On the Xbox app: Click on your profile in the top left corner, go to settings, then click "Redeem a code".

3. Enter your CD key: Copy and paste your unique 25-character code into the dedicated input field, then click "Next" to confirm the activation.

4. Download on your device of choice: Once redeemed, the game is permanently tied to your account. You can now download it from your library on your Windows PC or directly from the "My games & apps" section on your Xbox console.
