    Jakt i Louisiana! I Hunt Showdown spelar du som en prisjägare med uppdrag att städa upp i Bayou. Louisiana har invaderats av mardrömslika varelser och det är upp till dig att bli av med dem. Om du lyckas får du ett bra betalt, men om du misslyckas förlorar du nästan allt.
    Spelmässigt är Hunt Showdown som en battle royale där PvP och PvE blandas. Principen är enkel, på en karta kämpar fem lag med två jägare för sin överlevnad och mycket mer. I början av matchen måste varje duo spåra upp och döda en av de monstruösa varelser som lurar i träsket, och om de lyckas tilldelas de en bonus och blir ett mål för alla andra jägare. Du måste se dig för om du inte vill hamna i deras händer och därmed låta dem lägga pengarna i fickan. Jägarna har också en förmåga att se på natten som kallas Dark Sight. Den gör att du kan följa ditt mål genom att bli guidad av ett sken. Men se upp, för Dark Sight avslöjar även spelare med en bonus på huvudet. Om detta är ditt fall måste du vara extra försiktig för att undvika andra jägare.
    I Hunt Showdown är det avgörande att få erfarenhet för att förbättra din karaktär. Det sker genom din Bloodline, med andra ord din härstamning, och är gemensamt för alla dina karaktärer. Om du lyckas överleva får du behålla pengarna du har tjänat för att förbättra din Bloodline och utrusta nya jägare. Om du dör förlorar du allt, utom din erfarenhet, som du behåller för att avancera andra jägare i din Bloodline.
